Deepak Kumar (name changed), 34, an entrepreneur from Haridwar was diagnosed with Hepatosplenomegaly about six months ago, a disorder which results in the abnormal swelling of liver and spleen usually thanks to some infection. With no option left but to go for liver transplantation as the only remedy, the youth from Haridwar was guided by the former head of the department of Rishikul Ayurvedic College to take Ayurvedic therapy.
The youth said he had acted on it and the result was nothing short of a miracle. A study done by All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi over a cross- section of 100 such patients by the doctors’ teams and published in Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research has stated that Ayurveda is the best medical option for those down with liver disorders, the practitioners of Ayurveda based in Haridwar claimed.
They further claimed that Ayurveda helps the patients afflicted with grave non-communicable diseases to recover fast when other modes of treatment fail to rise up to the occasion.
Speaking to The Pioneer, the Ayurvedic expert and the advisor to the World Association of Integrated Medicine V K Agnihotri said, “The youth afflicted with Hepatosplenomegaly approached me six months ago. “He was diagnosed with acute Ascites which we call Jalodar in the Ayurvedic system. This is a case where water retains in abdominal cavity. He came with a large spleen. He had earlier been advised by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Delhi for the liver transplantation. I was acquainted with the research of my close associate Divya Kajaria at Rishikul who is now working as the assistant professor in AIIA New Delhi. She took the case of the patient and within 20 days, he recovered with near to optimum bilirubin presence in blood,” he said.
